My name is Hilary Mack and I am a Registered Clinical Psychologist with over ten years experience working with children, adolescents, adults and families to assist people to get closer to their goals and overcome areas of difficulty.

I specialise in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), an evidenced-based approach to working through anxiety, depression and other emotional difficulties.  If you'd like to know more about what I do, please email me or call me on 0211424838.  I look forward to hearing from you.

In my practice I work with people with a broad range of difficulties ranging from worry and anxiety problems through to difficulties with depression or problems achieving relationship or career goals.  My areas of particular expertise include the Cognitive Behavioural (CBT) treatment of Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD) and working with people who have Asperger's Syndrome who have additional difficulties with anxiety or depression.  I also work with people who have eating difficulties or self-harming behaviours, and assist parents to respond more effectively to child or adolescent emotional and behavioural problems.

In addition to Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, I incorporate Mindfulness techniques in my work as well as aspects of Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Family Based Treatment (FBT) for eating disorders (otherwise known as the "Maudsley Method").  I have recently completed training in CBiT, a psychological approach to the management of tics and Tourette's Syndrome.

Prior to moving to New Zealand, I've worked as a Clinical Psychologist in Australia and in the UK.  I've worked in a number of public mental health settings including child and adolescent mental health services, and National Specialist services based at the Maudsley Hospital in London. I've worked on research into anxiety problems in people with autism spectrum disorders and have contributed to psychology training programmes at University College London, University of East London and Auckland University of Technology.  Since moving to New Zealand, I've worked for public inpatient and outpatient child and adolescent mental health services; I now work full-time in private practice.

My private practice is centrally located at Room 11, 465 Mt Eden Rd, about 100 metres south of Mt Eden Village.

My clinic days are Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays.

My fees are $190 per one hour session, GST inclusive.

If you'd like to get in contact, please call me on 0211424838 or email me at summitpsychology@hotmail.com
